When all around me feels unsettled, I choose to settle in with you. I want my time with you. Help me to be a blessing and not a storm cloud. Help me to be still and know that you are God. Help me to release bitterness and anger, resentment and independence and self centeredness and all to you Lord. My heart beats for you. Help me to be still and know you are God and you have me covered and you are blessing me with your very best.
What if the resistance is really just a call to rest, to be still, to settle into your feathered breast of protection (Psalm 91), care, love, comfort, peace – it’s all about being with you! And what if the resistance, effort, strives, tug, independence, self-effort all leads to this – rest in you – it’s all that has ever mattered – being with you.
Zechariah 4:6-7 So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.
“What are you, O mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!”’ (or Grace! Grace!)
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Grace, Grace, Grace. It’s what trust and faith is all about.
John 5:19 Jesus gave them this answer: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.”
God (G) – Waves and waves of love, peace, faith, glory, favor, strength, wisdom, peace, joy, hope overflowing, waves and waves and waves. Laughter is the antidote. It breaks everything. Laughter is washing over your family.
Beth (B) – Laughter because we know who we are and who our Daddy is and you God have it all in your hand and I say yes, yes, yes.
Matthew 11:25-27 (NIV) At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
