I was enjoying a morning shower and thought, “Lord, I want to know what is fun to you? Show me fun.” And guess what, he did. I was running errands and I saw two young teenagers standing outside the post office. I figured they were either enjoying a school holiday or they were homeschoolers, so I asked. They were twins that had just moved from CT.
“Hmm, where?” I asked.
“West Hartford.”
“Hmm, do you happen to know my niece and nephew?”
“Yep, best friends”, the boy said.
Huh? So this is fun to you God? You connected me with a Jewish mom of twins looking for competitive soccer programs. They had been in town two days and you picked me. I got to say I was sure God did this. When she said numerous times it was the universe, I kept thinking it is your universe Lord. The universe you created for your glory. Ok, so she was pointing to you in a funny sort of way. But what was your fun point? Was it the mystery of the moment we were there at the same time? Was it those two loitering teens standing as beacons in that spot that attracted me? Was it a way to show them your love?
Yes, it was showing your love. Showing that no matter where they are, you are with them. You spoke and she heard the universe. Does it hurt you Lord to be mis – oh yikes, I am back to misrepresented, misunderstood, mistaken, mis – oh lord, it happens so often, but still you are love and still I can choose to love and still.
Fun? Please keep playing with me. Please keep showing me your joy and enjoyment. Please keep having fun with me. I want to play. I want to laugh. I want to be with you in fun. Lord, I pray that you will continue to show me your way, in all of your robust glory and delight and joy. I want to belly laugh with you often. I want to be fun and have fun and bring fun, your fun, everywhere I go. I want your fun to be, front and center. Thank you Lord.
