Later, right as I was going to sleep, I felt like God was highlighting the “Mis”. The misunderstood, misguided, mistook? And I noticed the clock 11:11
The next morning I journal…
If I believe God is good and we have both been crying out with tender hearts, the Spirit of Fear isn’t stronger than God. I believe you can use others to speak truth, but this felt like such a do thing. We did pray together as you asked. Somehow this isn’t matching. So, what if showing us even this one can mis; the words mistake, misunderstood, misguided, you showed me last night that this can happen with a filter that shifts from His focus to his. We long to have it end and yet the ‘fix it’ has not been your way.
Last night in bed I started thinking about the brutal stuff Jesus had to endure. For God’s purpose, beyond what we could know or understand, Jesus came and he died and rose again. Why (is this any) different? Jesus didn’t have a Spirit of anything but Holy Spirit, and God had a purpose that was big and good. Not one thing about Jesus death looked good at the time. And still God is big and good. And now we see and understand it differently. I feel like it underestimates God or overestimates us, to think I KNOW what John 10:10 looks like here on earth and if my circumstances don’t look that way that there is something wrong.
What if we really are hearing you?
What if we really are pleasing you in a big way?
What if our circumstances really are a lie and the truth is this is the biggest thing you have ever done in us and with us?
What if the well-meant revelation is again an opportunity to go to you and lay ourselves down and say your way not ours?
I can not feel comfortable with a daddy that when asked doesn’t respond in a situation of long suffering. Instead, I choose to believe that you are speaking and responding and what we are hearing is from you – all else is perspective, opinion, chatter, even well intentioned, but you want me to say, Ok Daddy, I hear the one you love, but I want to hear from you. You know my heart, Lord. My heart is for what you are for and even if it is misunderstood, overlooked, judged, I will still choose you over any other. So, God, I still hear you saying be still, trust, I am protected. So, I am staying right here, whatever it looks like, it is still the best place to be, with you. I trust all to you. I am not Holy Spirit – I am – I trust you.
Thank you, Lord, for all you are doing. Every time I start to get uncalm, I feel the sense that you are calling me back. I do not know. I believe you do. I believe you are good. I believe you love me. With all we have been through, you have always been faithful, and you have incredibly used things to point to you, some we know, many we do not. I am sure in you. I am unsure on my own. I choose you. I would rather be judged a fool with you than a fool on my own.
God (G) – I am sure.
Beth (B) – Yes Lord. Wave?
G – Watch for waves of me overcoming all.
B – Yes Lord
G – Watch and see
B – Yes Lord
G – I AM
B – Yes Lord
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (Jesus speaking) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Feels like the version in man’s view of abundance in the natural, of riches and the measuring stick, is a way to judge
Versus
God’s kids are carrying pails of Kingdom. We dispense and receive riches of truth, love, grace, mercy, forgiveness. You are not against world riches but this word is not saying that and equating that is a door to allow fear and condemnation that the enemy can use. Lord, show us your way.
And then in my research online…
From Gill’s Exposition of Bible found on Biblehub:
Those who are really “His own” listen to His voice. They recognize that He has been sent from God, and are ready to follow him as the good shepherd, who by His sacrificial love rescues His flock from evil and death, and leads them into the best of all pasturage where they can enjoy a richer and a fuller life. He does not offer them an extension of physical life nor an increase of material possessions but the possibility, nay the certainty, of a life lived at a higher level in obedience to God’s will and reflecting His glory.
In summary, John 10:10 should not be used as though it gives some promise of an improved physical life for the Christian. Such a view, in light of the context, is shallow, and it overlooks the profound truth of the passage. The passage promises superior, superabundant spiritual life, life empowered by the indwelling of Jesus Christ. Because Christians “have” Jesus Christ, because he lives within them, they have the riches of the superabundant life. This is what Paul meant when he said he counted all things loss, that he might win Christ. John 10:10 promises a spiritual dimension to life, not physical abundance. A focus on the physical trivializes the profound depth of John 10:10
And from Craig Keener
To be a follower of Jesus, to know who he is and what he means, is to have a superabundance of life. There is a new vitality, a new meaning, a new energy, a new purpose, a new significance, a new outlook, a new hope, a new joy, a new life.
