Driving two 16-year-old boys to baseball practice. It’s sprinkling, raining, snowing. We banter and chat. And then I say it – be a Noah. So think about this while it’s raining during practice. When God asked Noah to build an ark, Noah was faced with some big choices. It had never rained before in the history of the world. That was a new thing that had never been experienced. And God said, build an ark this way. And no one had ever done anything like it before. For years, Noah built and for years he was ridiculed, tormented, doubted, bad mouthed, criticized. But he chose to believe God and do what God was asking him to do. It was outlandish, unheard of, unseen, otherworldly and still he persevered in the face of many – family and friends and strangers – and he did it anyway, because God said. (Genesis 6-9)
That was what I meant when I said, “Be a Noah,” to the two 16-year-old boys in my care as we hit every light on the way to baseball practice. You gave me just the right amount of time to share your heart for these two young men as we neared the field.
Be a Noah
Be Bold
Have Faith
Believe
Disregard all but God
Believe the unseen
Believe the on purpose precision of the revelation
Believe and act
Act on purpose
Act for God and with Him and His plans and purposes
Do not be swayed by the indecent, the unbelievers, the negative, the cursed, the old way, the ‘this has never been done before’ crowd.
Be a Noah.
