God (G) – I am all joy.
Beth (B) – I want that. I want to be all joy. What is that? How does that look?
G – It’s the place you are. Seeing things through my eyes.
B – Yes Lord. I want that. But the pain…
G – I see the promise.
B – The hopelessness…
G – I see the resurrection.
B – The ravaging
G – I see the bride.
B – The pain
G – I see the glory.
B – The destitute
G – I see the heart.
B – The insensitive
G – I see the redemption
B – The tears
G – I see the joy.
B – It comes back to joy?
G – It comes back to me. I am.
B – What else do you see, Lord?
G – I see the recovery, the rebirth. I see the sorrow become celebration. I see the shame become mercy. I see the wounds healed. I see the lost found. I see the heartbroken, brand new. I see it all so differently and I am not in a hurry. I see it. It is done and I watch as it unfolds, my beautiful, precious bride. She is awaiting and I long for her.
B – Practically Lord?
G – Practically? Sounds a bit of the world.
B – Ok, now what?
G – Be still and know I am God.
B – I hear it’s all going to be ok.
G – No. Ok is mediocre. Ok is not what I have designed. Ok is not my way.
B – What then?
G – All.
B – All Lord?
G – All.
B – You want me. All of me Lord. I want you to have all of me. I do.
G – All.
